Mr. Snyder - Make This Statement

Mr. Snyder, please make the following statement: People of Washington - in the past I have made some egregious errors in my management of the Washington Redskins. I have put the short term ahead of the long term, profits ahead of results on the field, have been much too hands-on in my handling of football operations, and have not hired and listened to football experts. Yes - I hired Joe Gibbs, but I expected him to contribute in areas outside of his expertise (like player personnel selection) - and I even over-ruled him in that area. All this will stop today. I beg your forgiveness, and ask for your future support. As of today: I will put long-term success ahead of short term goals. There will be no more Redskin jets ferrying Pro-Bowlers at the end of their careers to Redskins park to receive their retirement packages/golden parachutes.I will not trade away draft picks that could have been used for the long term good (like an offensive line) for end-of career players like Jason Taylor. I will consult with other experts in football operations, hire a competent, rising young general manager, and will no longer interfere with the ranking of players for the draft, or pursuit of free agents. I will allow that GM to select a head coach. I will not interfere in that decision. The Redskins are a business, but they are also a public trust for the people of Washington. I will balance my desire to win a Super Bowl with the requirement to provide affordable entertainment for the people of Washington. I will make ticket plans available that allow every day Washingtonians to see one or two Redskins games per year. I will never again sue a customer who can no longer afford to maintain their ticket plan.   I'm providing a year's worth of free tickets to the grandma I sued. I will allow fans to express their opinions - no more sign ban.  The wife of the soldier whose "I love my husband in Afghanistan" sign I took will be my guest in the owner's box this weekend.I will do my best to keep ticket prices, concession prices, and prices for merchandise reasonable. I expect to make up on volume due to the good will of the people of Washington what I would lose at the margin of each individual sale. I will make visiting FedEx Field a more pleasant experience. We will run shuttle buses to the Field from the Metro to Fed Ex field. I will have competent staff directing traffic around the stadium before and after each game. Again, I beg for your forgiveness, and ask for your future support. My door is open to the fans of D.C. You can send me your feedback on the Redskins website, by clicking on "e-mail Mr. Snyder", or leaving me a voice mail at 1-800-REDSKIN. Sincerely Dan Snyder Hail to the Redskins ...View More

Not to sign Vick to the Redskins

Rumors are going around that the Redskins could look to get Mike Vick. Have we not already had enough talk about changing the QB? It's time for this to stop and the Redskins put all of their support behind Jason Campbell as the QB of the Washington Redskins.  Mike Vick will only bring lots of unwanted attention and problems to the Redskins. This is not about what you think about his crimes and weather or not he should be allowed to play in the NFL. It's about the Redskins standing by Jason Campbell and stop all of the QB controversy. No Mike Vick on the Redskins!!! ...View More
Baugh Field.... Lets change the name

We should really change our name at FedExField to give the spirit back to ol' DC. After the passing of one of NFL's many greats, who also happened to be the best Redskin to ever live, we need to dedicate the stadium to him. Screw the damn sponsorship from FedEx just so that Snyders pockets get even fatter. Lets name this thing Sammy Baugh Stadium or just Baugh Stadium. It would be true team spirited players, playing under an ex-NFL greats roof. Lambeau field over in Green Bay is a hell of a lot better than Wisconsin Cheese Stadium or something dumb like that. I say screw the endorsement and lets get this name change done.  What Redskins player wouldn't get joy out of playing in Baugh Stadium, it gives them a name to live up to. Me, as a fan, would love to sit in a game at Baugh, or Sammy Baugh Stadium. How bout it Redskinheads? ...View More

the Washington Redskins fan base is the best in the league. we have supported the team through thick and thin over many years. we spend and we travel and we show up in force, even in bad weather. and we DO know when to be loud and when to be quiet, no matter what the media attention grabbers and a few self-important blowhard fans might say. we have suffered through the game announcer treating us like preschoolers, and dealt with the goofy jumbotron announcements, but enough is enough. NO BURGUNDY TOWELS !!! please do not embarrass yourselves and us with you on national TV (for the second game in a row) with a lame copycat promotion which has zero chance of garnering enough particpation to even be close to effective. on a game where we honor Art Monk and Darrell Green, let's try and exhibit some measure of football dignity for them, if not ourselves. thank you !!!   ...View More
